It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of Mr. Jesse Hill, Jr. – former President of the Atlanta Life Insurance Company. Mr. Hill was an integral part of the Atlanta’s business community and one of the regions most celebrated civil rights leaders.Mr. Hill worked with Atlanta Life Insurance Company from 1949-1990. During his first two decades with Atlanta Life, he became vice president and the chief actuary of the company. In 1973 he was elected president and chief executive officer, becoming the company's third president and the first not to be a family member of Alonzo Herndon, Atlanta Life's founder.
Mr. Hill retired from Atlanta Life in 1991. -

Read more...Atlanta Life has a new home...December 3, 2012, Atlanta Life relocated to the 191 Peachtree Tower. The Senior Management and staff are excited about our return to Peachtree Street where our founder started his first successful business enterprise over a century ago. It's a new chapter for Atlanta Life, but a good one. We will ALWAYS cherish the fond memories of Herndon Plaza and Auburn Avenue.

Atlanta Life Co-Sponsors 16th Annual Unsung Heroines Event
The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter proudly presents the 16th Annual Unsung Heroines celebration as they recognize and honor women providing outstanding community service in Metropolitan Atlanta on Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.
Those being honored are Brenda Joyce Davenport, C. Denise Hendricks and Anana Harris Parris. The Trailblazer Award will be given to Lucretia Payton-Stewart, Ph.D. The Mistress of Ceremonies will be Jovita Moore, News Anchor, WSB-TV.
The event is being sponsored by Atlanta Journal Constitution, Atlanta Life Insurance Company, Atlanta Marriott Marquis, Delta Airlines, Georgia Pacific and State Farm.
